Make It
Step 1
In a large mixing-bowl, whisk together the sugar and the cinnamon. Set aside.
Step 2
Heat (medium-high) 1 ½ inches of vegetable oil to 300˚F in a frying pan at least 3 inches deep.
Step 3
With the kitchen tongs, slowly place one Fresqui-ricas tortilla into the hot oil. Allow it to bubble up and get crispy (about 2 minutes), flipping over until golden brown.
Step 4
With a slotted spoon, pull the tortilla out of the oil and place on a plate covered with a paper towel, to drain excess oil.
Step 5
Repeat with the rest of the tortillas.
Step 6
Place each warm tortilla into the mixing-bowl and coat evenly with sugar and cinnamon.
Step 7
Set the buñuelos on a serving platter and enjoy!
Step 8
Drizzle dulce de leche over buñuelos if desired.
Step 9
Prepare hot chocolate with Abuelita and serve with buñuelos.
